The Concept

The idea is simple. We take popular classic British dishes including roast beef and apple pie and custard. Using a crack team of food and wine experts, we answer the question ‘What Food What Wine?’ by sampling a variety of wines with each dish. The competition’s aim is purely to identify which wine goes well with each dish. All wines are judged blind so the competition is a completely level playing field. The competition attracts wines from all over the world and all wines are available to purchase in the UK.

The 2013 competition dishes include fish and chips, roast beef, shepherd's pie, mushroom risotto, apple pie and custard, and mature Cheddar.
