Jo Ahearne MW

Jo has been involved in the wine trade for 20 years. She began stacking crates in Oddbins and soon after found herself barracking the Barossa Valley’s Charlie Melton into taking her on as vintage dogsbody.  Bitten by the wine-making bug, she sold her house and gave all her money to the Australian government in exchange for a degree in Oenology, working vintages in Tasmania, Victoria and the Clare Valley. She’s also worked as a flying winemaker in Spain and France and spent three sunny years making Jacobs Creek. In 2004 Marks & Spencer finally persuaded Jo to return home to choose and blend wine for them. She passed her Master of Wine in 2008.
