Sarah Jane is a Master of Wine, and wine and food writer with a passion for flavour. She was Associate Editor of BBC Good Food magazine for over a decade, and remains their Wine Editor. She also contributes to Decanter, Square Meal and Imbibe, amongst other magazines.
She travels widely round the world, meeting producers, speaking and teaching about wine and about chocolate, and judging at wine competitions from Australia and Argentina, to Georgia and Spain.
One of her special enthusiasms is chocolate and she is a founder member of the Academy of Chocolate. She is a popular speaker on the pleasures of fine chocolate, and on discovering the diversity of flavours and the most delicious matches with beers, wines and spirits. Her latest book is a guide to the topic: Chocolate Unwrapped: Taste and Enjoy the World’s Finest Chocolate. She has also written books on Tea & Coffee, and Seville.
She has a particular fondness for Sherry and the wines of Spain, and is Co-Chair of the Decanter World Wine Awards for Spain. In addition she writes about Spain and Sherry for the annual Hugh Johnson Pocket Wine Guide, as well as contributing to the Wine Opus and 1000 Great Wines. She is also a Past President of the Guild of Food Writers, and a Governor of the British Nutrition Foundation.
