Peter Richards MW (Chair)

 
Peter Richards is a Master of Wine and one of the UK's youngest (and tallest) award-winning wine writers and broadcasters. Peter talks wine and food on BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen, reaching up to three million viewers a week and recommending wines that sell out across the nation as a result. Other TV credits include Taste (Sky One), Daily Cooks (ITV1), Market Kitchen (BBC2/UKTV), Great Food Live and Food Uncut.
 
His leisurely tones also unfurl across the radio waves on BBC Radio 4's Food Programme, Radio Five Live, BBC Radio Solent and BBC Radio London. Peter has written two books: Gourmand World Award-winner Wineries with Style and The Wines of Chile, which was shortlisted for the André Simon prize. Other books Peter has contributed to include the newly released Wine Opus, the award-winning Wine Report and three editions of the popular Saturday Kitchen cook books.
 
He also writes widely for newspapers and magazines including The Guardian, Daily Mail, Decanter and Times Online. In 2009, together with his wife Susie, Peter established the Winchester Wine School. Shortly after they were named IWSC Communicators of the Year 2010. Peter and Susie both passed the notoriously difficult Master of Wine qualification first time, winning multiple awards as a result, including a double whammy for the coveted IMW Outstanding Achievement Award.
 
This, together with plenty of tennis, a host of live events and a healthy dose of The Simpsons, tends to keep Peter off the streets and away from daytime TV. Most of the time.
