“I am really excited to be working on this new and unique competition that ties together what I believe to be two exceptionally important things in life…food and wine. I love nothing more than enjoying good food when it is served with a nicely matched wine and vice versa – it really does make all the difference.
However, matching wine to food and food to wine is an area many people know very little about – the beauty of this competition is that it offers wine producers and retailers the chance to educate and offer confidence to the consumer when purchasing wines to accompany some of Britain’s favourite dishes.
I’m very much looking forward to developing these recipes for the wine producers and retailers to match their wines to, and then for the consumers to be able to enjoy in their own home once the competition is complete.
I think the idea behind this competition is a great extension to what the IWSC have done so well for over forty years, and working with them and Susie and Pete has been extremely insightful, not to mention a pleasure. All in all this is a fabulous project which I can see becoming hugely popular among producers, retailers and consumers for years to come”.
